Today has been a decent day so far. First, there wasn't any school. This is possibly the biggest plus. Then, I got to drive a lot, from home to Lowe's, to Kohl's, and back home. Chrisbro is an extremely amiable traveling companion. He tried to get me to go for ice cream, but I successfully resisted his pleas. I did need to get back home, after all. We got Mom some earrings for Mum's Day, and didn't get lost on the way home. This is very good, because we wouldn't have gotten to Kohl's if we hadn't been following Dad. "We need to turn here? Oops..." Dude, you're my navigator. Bad navigator!

I have a Mother-Daughter Tea thing at church at three. I'm not doing anything with Mom, since she's at school, but I got roped into playing. It should be fun, except for the fact that I have to wear a skirt. I really don't like skirts. It's a nice enough skirt, as skirts go, but it's still a skirt.

Thursday night I went to a Durham Bulls game. Clay Aiken, of American idol fame, sang the national anthem. There were probably more people there to see him than there were to see the Bulls. I know that's the only reason why my Mom went. There was a lottery to get a chance to get Clay's autograph, one of those deals where they call out the seat number. The row behind us and about five seats over got called, but there wasn't anyone sitting in it. It was, however, one of the tickets that Dad's company had bought. And someone did have the ticket, even though they weren't using it. And he didn't want to go see Clay, so he gave it to me.

Hee.

So now I have Clay Aiken's autograph. Don't look at me like that....

Getting out of the space we parked in was an adventure. Dad parked the van on a grassy, rather steep hill. And someone parked directly behind us. The original plan was to go over the hill and to the street beyond, but that didn't work, so the plan changed to trying to make the car somehow slide sideways so that we could back out through the meager space that we had.

My reaction to this was "Slide the car!? whimper..." But we made it out, all intact. My adventure for the week.
