What a fun, fun weekend it was at our house. (And this time, I am using "weekend" in its traditional sense--that is, Saturday and Sunday) My beloved father, in his infinite wisdom, decided that our house needed a french drain. He was probably right; every time it rains, we get a little river flowing right through the middle of the garage. However, the construction of the french drain required the crossing of the phone lines running through our yard. Three times, apparently, since that's the number of times he cut them. Actually, that's not quite accurate; our former neighbor, who was helping Dad with this project, and probably started to regret it after Dad started getting stressed and shouting, cut one, and Dad did the other two. So our neighbors lost their phone, which was really all right, as they weren't actually home, and we lost our phone. The neighbors got theirs back after Dad called BellSouth, but he cut ours after the BellSouth guy had already left, so we're still without a dial tone. Fun stuff.

At least we have a french drain now. No grass, though, it all got dug up.

I had to go get lunch at Wendy's this afternoon, which was cool, since I hadn't really done very much, or anything, really, with the drain, but it meant that I hadn't been home very much since early that morning, since I had church (by myself--Dad and Chrisbro were too tired, not that I blame them, but still), then Youth Praise Team, and a trip to Home Depot, and he asked me for lunch as soon as I got home, and then I had to go back and get the rest of our order, i.e., Dad's sammich, and by the time I got to actually eat them my fries were cold and kind of greasy. Ahem. On reflection, I see that that sentence topped one hundred words. I am so totally babbling it's not even funny.

Saturday was nice, though. Went to Erica's, and we went to MoJoe's, which has good burgers and fries, and walked around for a bit. We took a circuitous route to Cameron Village, then back to Erica's car at MoJoe's; my mom thought that this was a very long way, but it didn't really seem like it while we walked it. Oh! and we bought mints at the Fresh Market, of two different species. Lots of munchies for my desk drawer. Good stuff. And we watched a movie called Dead Again, the reason for the title neither of us could figure out, since none of the characters actually died more than once, with Kenneth Branaugh and Emma Thompson in it. Decent movie, with far too many scissorses (what is the plural of scissors, anyway?) in it. I will never be able to look at a pair of shears the same way again.

This entry actually started as a simple explanation of why we don't have a working landline. Looks like it morphed. Imagine that.

I don't really feel any sort of attachment to Christianity any more. I've given God threats of the "do this or I won't believe anymore" sort, which he has ignored, and I can't figure out who's right, the conservatives or me. If the conservatives are right, I suspect that I will be very happy in Hell, as I'll have lots of interesting company.

I got a speeding ticket this morning, for going 53 in a 35 zone. The guy let me off with a warning. Maybe I'll donate money to the Apex Police Department when I'm rich and famous, ha ha. It was just a warning, so I'm not sure if it resets my six-month countdown or not, but I think I'll wait anyways. I need to start paying attention.

Think I'm going to go to bed... actually, no, I have one more section on my meteorology project to finish. Stupid science.
