Mar. 10th, 2004 08:43 pmI feel vaguely sorry for this blog. I wish sometimes that I wrote in it more, but I don't, and it will just have to deal.
One of the multitudinous school mailings I have received in the past weeks was from a school with a nuclear reactor staffed entirely by freshmen: Reed College, in Portland. I did some research (read: surfed around their website) this evening, and now I want to go to Reed. Despite the fact that it's across the country. Their website has a sense of humor, and the background has a watermark of a griffin, which I can only assume has something to do with their mascot. And they have a nuclear reactor.
The idea of going thousands of miles away for school is just a little bit freaky. I figure I'll deal with that particular issue if it ever comes up, but I find myself almost hoping that I will. Especially since, after I mentioned that I had been looking at Reed to my parents, Mom said something about not ever seeing me again, because I would like that area of the country so much, and that would mean visiting Oregon, wouldn't, and wouldn't that be a shame.
My birthday really is in less than a month. Freaky.
Tomorrow is an Orchestra Festival in Chapel Hill. Not going to anything after lunch, which somehow translates itself in my mind to Don't need to do homework--don't have school. This is Not Good, as I have research still to do (Bad Hannah), and an APES test tomorrow, for real this time.
Oooh, reminds me: want to burn an mp3 CD tonight, of stuff that I will want for the car ride. Because forty minutes in a van with other orchestrites will just not be real cool, I don't think.
