Nov. 21st, 2007 05:01 pmA good thing: My plan for my Middle English final project is to do a simple web interface thingie that gives you passages with translations, and reads them. So I get to make such an interface, and read stuff. There was a group in Fall 2000 (I think?) that did something similar, but they used frames and a weird audio format, so I'm going to make an updated version. I'm not sure if I can cannibalize anything they did; I suspect not, because frames. I'm planning on doing things with CSS, php and Javascript to make life prettier and not full of frames.
ANYWAY. The good thing I discovered is that between the microphone in my camera and Audacity, I can make reasonable recordings. Don't know how good-quality they are, since it's... the microphone in my camera, but they're definitely audible. Thus I won't even have to go to Professor Alves to ask for his recording space, and I can record things whenever I have time. Yay.
