My church has wonderful acoustics.

There was a prayer thing there this evening. There were six people there, including my dad and me, the priest and his wife, and a woman who just happened to be working. We did a little service thingie from the prayerbook--apparently being Episcopalian means that one's prayerbook contains a service for every occasion. You learn something new every day. Anyway, there was a reading involved, and I read it, and I was all echo-y. 'Twas fun.

NCAA tournament time once again. I have a very odd attitude towards basketball. Since the other members of my family care about the tournament, I've gotten sucked in enough times to actually know how to play, and some of the pertinent terminology. However, I don't really care about the tournament. I can turn my inner sports fan on and off at will, which is rather nice. I suspect I will get some odd looks from people who don't expect me to know what a bracket it, let alone be filling one out for my dad's office pool. Of course, I make some of my decisions based on the names of the teams, like "Wagner is a composer, and their team should come out of the locker room to "Ride of the Valkyries", and Pitt just sounds like a hole in the ground, so even though Pitt is the #2 seed, and Wagner is the #15 seed, I'll go for Wagner." There are still some tough choices to make; right now, I'm torn between Notre Dame and Illinois going to the third round. They're both French, so negative points for each, but I can't decide on what other characteristics to judge on. And then there's Louisville and Mississippi St. Mississippi St. is Miss. St. on the bracket, so should they get bonus points for the abbreviation? Decisions, decisions....
