So. We're at war.

The idea seems unreal. Erica and I talked a little about this last night, that our generation doesn't really know what to do with it. I mean, sure, there was a walk-out, but it seems almost like they only did it because that's the sort of thing that one does if one is in high school and disagrees with the president.

There are enough war rants already blogged, so I'm not going to add to them very much. Only to say that I'm not really sure of why we're going, and that people like me could be the reason that there's supposedly an enormous approval rating for this war. If someone isn't entirely sure what's going on, but the president's for it, sometimes it's easier just to go along than to actually think about it. I heard a statistic (I don't remember where, so here's your grain of salt) that said that over half of Americans believe that the Iraqi government supports Al-Qaeda directly. I don't think the Bush administration has ever actually proved this. People jump to their own conclusions that allow them to hate.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't go to war. There are perfectly good reasons to do so. I just wish we didn't have to, and I wish that it didn't mean that I'll have to worry about what my passport says if I ever go to Europe. Just because we've been late for every other war doesn't mean that we have to be early for this one.
