htothehThe rain seems vaguely appropriate, if a bit melodramatic. It's nice to watch, ideally while curled up with a good book, and possibly Ovaltine.
Last night was heaps of fun. Finally got to meet Chris' house, he has some nifty woods in the middle of his subdivision. That's one of the things I love about DSFBC--we always seem to be able to find an adventure in the midst of normality, however small of an adventure it may be. We had our first fight. Not a serious fight or anything; just a struggle for possession of the icky poo. Fun stuff to play with. Four and up... ha. I want some. There was also much talking, and some silence. It wasn't all uncomfortable silence, either, which was nice.
Thinking about the future is a bit distressing, sometimes. There's the whole college crap, but then there's the war on top of it. There are people that I know who are going to join the armed forces, which is just extremely weird, that there's the potential that they could just... cease to be. Or not, depending on which belief you subscribe to, but in any case, they wouldn't be here any more.
Then there's the fact that I've met people in high school who I don't want to lose. Between my parents, they've kept up with a grand total of zero people, from high school or college. Yes, the road trip will be grand. But what happens after?
Not going to worry about that right now. Now--a search for Ovaltine, and a good book.
