Jun. 16th, 2003 01:46 pmThere hasn't actually been very much to write about in the past couple of days. I went to the Race for the Cure on Saturday morning, at an insanely early time, as in 7:30, with my mom and some other women from my neighborhood. Or formerly from my neighborhood, at least. That was cool. There were about 15,000 participants. At some points it was possible to see ahead for a ways, and the street was always completely filled with people's heads. Very Cool Thing.
We went to see The Italian Job that afternoon, thereby defeating the plans I had made for a nap. It was a pretty good movie. There were car chases and explosions, and some Evil Plotting. And a guy who claimed to be the original Napster. The only thing I didn't like is that I already knew what the movie was about, and what all the coolest scenes were, just from watching TV and seeing the trailer. You know a movie isn't very profound when they can put all the good bits in a minute-long trailer.
Father's Day was quite nice. We got Dad some grill stuff, a mitt and a spatula (Spatula Man!), a DVD of The Hustler, and a little book of things a father should do when raising a daughter. I think he liked it. We didn't actually do very much besides going to church, and giving Dad his presents, but that was all right because there was seafood fettucini alfredo for dinner. Yummy shrimpses.
And today? Today I'm bored stiff. Dad's coming in about two minutes so that I can take him back to work and thus have the car and the ability to drive Chrisbro to basketball. I can't eat my lunch until he gets here because I don't want to leave my bagel in the toaster oven, because it would get cold. So I'm hungry and slightly annoyed at my brother, the reason for which is that he asked me several times if I was out of bed yet. No, Chris, I am not out of bed. If I was out of bed, you would know, because my door would be open and I would have smacked you. Bleah.
Oooh, forgot about the fettucini. Leftovers, yum....
So I guess there was stuff to write about. Just not, y'know, Deep Thoughts or anything. Just fettucini.
Shutting up now.
