(no subject)
Sep. 1st, 2003 04:50 pmToday was an auspicious way to start September. Went to Erica's yesterday, after plans to go to three different lakes were foiled by rain. We watched Donnie Darko, which is a very strange movie. It has a guy in a disturbing purple rabbit suit in it, and the end of the world. Good movie, but strange. Spent the night at Erica's, even though their long-lost cousin once or twice removed came for dinner and her mom was freaking. At least, as freaking as she gets. I had instructions not to talk to Erica too much, so that she could get to meet the cousin. But for all of that, it was fun, because we escaped to make fish, and the cousin is a very interesting person. He's a professor of some sort, with a lot of knowlege about the situation in the Middle East. Erica and I listened to the adults present argue about Islam and weapons of mass destruction. I enjoyed listening to him talk because I know very little about the subject; it was all new to me. Plus the cookies were very good. Went to bed around midnight, watched some of the features on the Two Towers DVD and had bagels the next morning. Erica drove to return the movies, and there were no nerve-wracking situations at all.
Spent most of this afternoon watching Chrisbro play Soul Caliber II. He got it on Saturday, and has been doing very little else. Also, v.v. good thing I could spend the night at Erica's, since he had five guys over last night. Shudder. They're all nice kids, but they're my brother's friends. Out of the house=good. Then Chris came over to deliver potato salad that Claire didn't want from yesterday. And now I'm taking a few minutes to write in my poor, neglected blog.
I am feeling better today than I have been. I swear. I needed a dose of people, which is very odd, considering that I'm supposed to be an introvert. When I don't talk to people, I assume that people don't want to talk to me, and it all goes downhill from there. But I'm better now. See? Positive blog entry.
