htothehThis is the story of my computer.
Dad ordered it on the 7th. They told him they would need to build it--it wasn't in inventory. He said fine, and ordered 2-day shipping so it would get here as fast as possible. They said we would get it by the 29th.
The computer was shipped on the 14th, on which day Dad's credit card was billed. It left China and arrived in Anchorage the next day, whereupon it was shipped to Louisville, Kentucky.
Where it proceeded to sit for a week and a half.
Dad was very proactive about the whole thing, calling both UPS and Lenovo many, many times before getting a real live helpful person who kept him updated.
Customs finally passed the shipment through at 4:32 this morning. My computer arrived in Raleigh at 5:37. It should be delivered to Dad's office sometime today.
It's coming a day earlier than was originally forecasted, and I'm getting a free wireless keyboard and wireless optical mouse because of the ridiculousness going through customs. They wanted to give me a docking station, but Dad's going to try to get a USB memory stick and a t-shirt out of them instead.
As irritating as this process has been, I'm amused by the fact that I wasn't even going to get it until tomorrow, but I'm still going to get free stuff.
